LogicMonitor Doubles Down on Australian Investment with Launch of New Data Centre in Sydney

Sydney, Australia, 1 December 2021 – The leading cloud-based infrastructure monitoring and observability platform LogicMonitor, has launched its first Australian data centre, located in Sydney and locally hosted by cloud provider Amazon Web Services. The data centre comes in response to strong customer demand for local hosting capabilities and already boasts cornerstone LogicMonitor customers such as Nine, IOOF, and AC3.

The launch will support ongoing growth in the Australian market while assisting with compliance measures needed for any work done in the financial and public sector spaces. With this new data centre, regional customers’ data will be housed locally, meaning LogicMonitor’s lightweight, cloud-based platform will be faster than ever, improving overall customer experience.

“Our customers in Australia are eager for effective observability platforms that contribute to strong business results, and now we’re here to deliver on this at a local level,” says Richard Gerdis, Vice President and General Manager at LogicMonitor.

“We’re pleased to be able to fulfill our customer needs in the region while adhering to strong compliance and data sovereignty policies. The setup of a local LogicMonitor environment shows we’re a serious player in the market, especially at a time when Australia aims to assert itself as a leader across several key industries on a global level. LogicMonitor’s local data centre capabilities will prove to be critical in staying competitive.”

AC3 is an IT services leader in cloud solutions who has been securing and managing most of the NSW government agencies’ clouds, as well as over 700 companies in Australia and New Zealand, for the last 20 years. “The number of reported data breaches continues to rise, and although new regulations are also on the rise to combat the changing landscape to protect businesses and citizens, it can be hard for governments and enterprises to keep up by themselves,” says James Mollison, Head of Hybrid Cloud at AC3. “In today’s hybrid cloud world, a connected approach to security and governance strategies is a top priority. We view our expertise, along with LogicMonitor’s technology and its new local data centre as key to helping make our customers’ cloud environments even more secure, in addition to giving flexibility to meet data sovereignty and compliance requirements. Lastly, for Australian businesses, having a local presence has clear benefits in terms of the technology and lower latency time, but it also shows commitment from LogicMonitor by investing in our local industry.”

The new data centre comes after the opening of a new Melbourne office in August of this year, highlighting a strong focus for LogicMonitor within the Australian market. LogicMonitor’s APAC business experienced a 250% increase in revenue over the past 12 months.

“The fast-paced nature of our business as a multi-platform media network means we need full visibility across our operations,” says Joe McNamara, Group Director, Network & Communications at Nine, Australia’s largest locally owned media company whose assets include the 9Network, radio stations, digital properties, and major publications such as The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and The Australian Financial Review. “LogicMonitor’s capabilities have enabled us to have visibility of all our network infrastructure, compute and storage platforms as well as our broadcasting systems with the new Australian data centre keeping our information on shore. LogicMonitor gives us deep insight into issues occurring in our environment without all the background noise, allowing us to move faster and focus on high-value initiatives.”

“Operating in the financial services sector means having a secure data environment is of utmost importance to our business. LogicMonitor’s new Sydney-based data centre will assist us in maintaining a data environment that fits our business needs,” says Alex Siggins, General Manager – Infrastructure, Cloud & Workplace at IOOF, one of Australia’s leading wealth managers.
