Module Installation

Last updated on 17 September, 2024

Modules are installed from Exchange. You can install individual modules or module packages. When you install a package, you install all the modules that are part of that package. If you don’t want to install all modules in a package, you have the option to install only the modules you need.

In addition, you can import a module’s configuration (JSON or XML file format) directly to your portal. For more information, see Modules Management.

Requirements for Installing a New Module or Package

To install a new module or package, you need a user with a role that has “View” and “Manage” for the following permissions:

  • Exchange
  • My Module Toolbox (LogicModules)

For more information, see Users and Roles.

Installing a New Module or Package

  1. Navigate to Modules > Exchange.
  2. Locate the module or package you want to install from the Modules table.
For more information, see Modules Overview.
  3. If you are installing a single module, select Install next to the module in the Modules table.
Alternatively, you can view information about the module by selecting the module to open the details panel, and then select Install in the details panel.
  4. If you are installing a module package, do one of the following:
    • To install all modules in the package, select Install next to the package in the Modules table.
Alternatively, you can view information about the package by selecting the package to open the details panel, and then select Install in the details panel.
    • To install only the modules you need, select the package to open the details panel, and then select Install next to the applicable modules in the package you want to install.

Note: If you install a module or package and LogicMonitor detects a naming conflict, a message displays indicating the duplication. Forcing the installation overrides the currently installed module and all subsequent updates will originate from the new module’s lineage.

The module or package installs and is available in My Module Toolbox.
