LM Logs Usage Data

Last updated on 07 March, 2025

You can view the total data volume sent to LogicMonitor based on monthly aggregation of LM Logs to help you understand how and where your environment is incurring the most data usage. LogicMonitor provides visual components to display this data, allowing you to view the month-to-date usage and cumulative usage for the month. You can also leverage a list of predefined queries for LM Logs. Selecting a query from the list returns the largest usage contributors for LM Logs to help you identify the most demanding log usage contributors. For more information, see Visual Components for Usage Reporting.

In addition, if your environment provides services for multiple LogicMonitor accounts, you can view each account with the corresponding usage data for that account.

You can access this information from the LM Logs page, where you are redirected to the Usage page. The Usage page displays the data in the various visual components.

For more information, see Usage Reporting Overview.

Accessing Usage Data from the LM Logs Page

  1. Navigate to Logs.
  2. Select Monthly usage icon Monthly Usage.
The Usage page opens in a new tab with “LM Logs” selected for the product.
  3. Use the visual components to view your Logs usage data.
For more information, see Usage Data for LM Logs.

Note: When monitoring log usage, you may see inconsistencies in the reported log usage in the beginning of a month. The log collection is based on UTC time, and logs usage metrics starts at 00:00 on the first day of the month. If the log collector instance is not in a UTC Time Zone, depending on the time offset from UTC, usage report discrepancies may occur initially. The volume number will be correct after the first day.
