    Dell EMC Unity Monitoring

    Dell EMC Unity is one of Dell EMC’s midrange storage array product lines. It was designed from the ground up as the next generation midrange unified storage array after the EMC VNX and VNXe series, which evolved out of the EMC Clariion SAN disk array. Using LogicMonitor’s EMC Unity package, you can monitor the health of your EMC Unity batteries, cooling fans, disks, memory, SSDs, data pools, and more.

    Compatibility

    The Dell EMC Unity package is compatible with:

    • EMC Unity Hybrid and All Flash storage arrays
    • 300, 400, 500 and 600 series

    Setup Requirements

    Credentials

    LogicMonitor must provide the appropriate credentials in order to successfully access the resource. These credentials must belong to a Unisphere REST API user account that has been assigned the following minimum permissions:

    Read-only The Unisphere REST API defines this role as “operator”. For more information, see Dell EMC Unity product documentation.

    Once a Unisphere REST API user account is established, the following properties must be set on the EMC Unity resource within LogicMonitor. For more information on setting properties, see Resource and Instance Properties.

    When setting static datapoint thresholds on the various metrics tracked by this integration package, LogicMonitor follows the technology owner’s best practice KPI recommendations. If necessary, we encourage you to adjust these predefined thresholds to meet the unique needs of your environment.
