Alerting on Trace Data

Last updated on 09 September, 2024

If you set static or dynamic thresholds for the metrics monitored at the Resource or Service levels, you will receive alerts on these trace and operation metrics. See Viewing Traces for a Resource and Viewing Traces for a Service.

When viewing an alert generated for trace data, you will see a new option for the overview graph of the metric in Alerts: Go to traces. This option will open the Traces page with pre-configured filters for the Service or Operation associated with the alert.

On the Traces page, you can review other operations for the Services and Operations associated with the alert, as well as review contextual logs and alerts in the end-to-end trace view. See Using the Traces Page.
