Last updated on 04 February, 2025

Feature Highlights

  • Migration to Apache Groovy 4
  • Improvements to SNMP Trap as Logs
  • Setting Non-admin User as the Default User for Windows Collector Installation
  • Collector Debug Commands Security Update

LogicMonitor EA Collector 37.100 is released on February 04, 2025. It is based on the EA Collector 36.500 and includes the following additional updates.

Enhancement

Collector Migration to Apache Groovy 4

LogicMonitor Collector has migrated to Apache Groovy 4 following the end-of-support for Apache Groovy 2.4. Collector will now use the default Groovy 4 for monitoring and data collection.

Enhancement

Improvements to SNMP Trap as Logs

LogicMonitor has made the following improvements to SNMP trap as logs:

  • Improved the SNMP trap translation.
  • Translated OIDs now have the source MIB name prefixed.
  • The description of the trap OID is ingested to provide additional context about the trap. If you do not want the description in the log message, in the agent.conf setting, set the value of lmlogs.snmptrap.include.trap.description.enabled to false.
Enhancement

Setting Non-admin User as the Default User for Windows Collector Installation

While installing collector, you can now select Create a new default local non-admin account to add a non-admin user as the default user for Windows collector.

Enhancement

Collector Debug Commands Security Update

To make collector debug commands more secure, LogicMonitor has now removed the following debug commands.

  • !taskkil—To prohibit misuse of this command to end (that is, to kill) essential tasks, LogicMonitor has removed the !taskkil command. Now you cannot end tasks on the hosted machine where the collector is installed.
  • !opssl—To ensure secure communication, now you cannot turn off the tls and ssl protocol that handled the communication between the collector and the device.
Enhancement

Improvements to SB Proxy

To improve WinRM performance, LogicMonitor has now improved handling of different error codes, connections, and sessions in SBProxy.

Enhancement

Updates to MongoDB Data Access

In the Collector Debug window, you are now restricted to only retrieve the MongoDB data with your read-only permission. In addition, you are not allowed to modify the MongoDB.
