HP MSA / StorageWorks / P2000 Monitoring

The HP MSA package allows you to monitor your Hewlet-Packard (HP) storage devices; including HP Modular Smart Array (MSA), StorageWorks, and P2000.

Setup Requirements

To monitor your HP MSA, StorageWorks, or P2000 devices, you’ll need to complete the following sections to enable SNMP, configure a user for the XML API, and add the user’s credentials on the HP MSA resource within LogicMonitor.

Enable SNMP

Use the command line to enable the SNMP agent:

set snmp enabled
set snmp-parameters read-community your-community-string

Configure the XML API User

Run the following on the command line:

create user base 2 interfaces wbi roles monitor logicmonitor

Add User Credentials to Resource

After you create the user and password for the XML API user, set the following properties on the HP MSA resource within LogicMonitor. (For instructions on setting properties, see Resource and Instance Properties.

msa.sslProtocol to connect to the API. Set “true” to use HTTPS. Set “false” to use HTTP.
