Custom Email Delivery
Last updated on 10 March, 2025Custom Email Delivery integration offers an enhanced way to format alert notification emails with greater consistency, allowing you to customize the layout and structure without the inclusion of explanatory text. With this integration, you have full control over how both the subject line and the body of the email are structured, making it easier for the recipient system to parse and process the information efficiently.
For example, if your system requires a specific format to track alerts, you can tailor the subject and body of the emails to meet those needs, ensuring seamless integration with your monitoring tools or automated workflows. This level of customization eliminates the need for additional formatting or explanations, allowing your notifications to be concise and precise.
Note: Emails sent using this delivery method are not designed to be actionable. This means that you will not be able to reply to these emails to acknowledge the alert, mark it for scheduled downtime (SDT), or escalate the issue. Furthermore, notifications triggered through this integration are only sent for new alerts or cleared statuses, meaning that updates to existing alert conditions (such as acknowledged alerts) will not prompt another email notification.
In summary, while Custom Email Delivery provides greater flexibility in formatting alerts for easier parsing by recipient systems, it does come with limitations regarding interactivity and the types of alerts that trigger notifications.
Custom email alert delivery enables you to define the precise format of the email subject and body so that the recipient system can easily parse it. Emails generated by this alert delivery method are not actionable.
Requirements for Adding Custom Email Delivery Integration
- You have created your Custom Email Delivery integration, which had to be included as the contact method for a recipient in an escalation chain, and that escalation chain had to be referenced by an alert rule for alert notifications to be delivered using this integration method.
Adding Custom Email Delivery Integration
- Navigate to Settings > Integrations.
- Select
Add Integrations.
- Select Custom Email Delivery.

4. In the Add Custom Email Delivery Integration page, do the following:
- Name: The name of the integration.
- Description: The description for the integration.
- From Address: This field displays the email address from which your custom email notifications will be sent. It is auto-generated by LogicMonitor based on the parameters shown and is the same sender address used for all LogicMonitor alert notifications.
- Destination Addresses: The email addresses to which alert notifications will be sent. You can separate multiple addresses with commas.
- After adding a new email address to receive LogicMonitor emails.
- Select the Save & verify button. An email is sent to the newly added email address with a verification link to verify the email address.
Use the ##ADMIN.EMAIL## token to dynamically reference the email address associated with the user in the escalation chain to which the alert is routed.

7. Subject and Email Body: Both the subject and body of the alert notification email support tokens. You can use any of the following tokens in these fields:
- LogicModule-specific alert message tokens. For more information, see Tokens Available in LogicModule Alert Messages.
- ##ADMIN##. The user the alert was escalated to.
- ##MESSAGE##. The rendered text of the alert message. This token will also pass all relevant acked information (for example, the user that acknowledged the alert, ack comments, and so on.).
- ##ALERTTYPE##. The type of alert (That is alert, eventAlert, batchJobAlert, hostClusterAlert, websiteAlert, agentDownAlert, agentFailoverAlert, agentFailBackAlert, alertThrottledAlert).
- ##EXTERNALTICKETID##. The ticket ID generated by the external ticketing system.
8. Test Alert Delivery: This button sends a test alert and responds, allowing you to test whether the integration is configured correctly.
Note: Make sure to get the email address verified. If an email address is not verified, the Test alert delivery will not be sent to that email address. |
