Cisco IP SLA Monitoring

Last updated on 30 September, 2024

Cisco SLA profiles should be tagged within the Cisco config for ease of use. This allows LogicMonitor to detect them and display them by name, using the tag as the name.

For example, with a Cisco configuration of:

ip sla monitor 1
type echo protocol ipIcmpEcho 192.168.100.105
tag Tunnel_LAX
frequency 5
ip sla monitor schedule 1 life forever start-time now

LogicMonitor’s Active Discovery will detect the SLA, and use the tag Tunnel_LAX to display the SLA within LogicMonitor.

If your SLA configurations are not being detected, ensure they are currently active. (LogicMonitor only detects and monitors currently active SLAs.)
